Andy Oppenheimer (Oppenheimer Analysis) and Mahk Rumbae (Konstruktivists) joined forces
when performing together at Vienna’s legendary electronic music venue Rhiz in April
2012, and discovering a shared love of 1960s pop and 1980s synth music. The 12 songs on
their debut album, "The Presence of the Abnormal" combine these elements to
create a synth-pop sound which at times features danceable rhythms and catchy melodies,
and at other times dark and threatening sounds and themes. The songs were written and
recorded during 2012, with the lyrical content in parts influenced by Andy’s work
as an expert on defence and counterterrorism. The album is electronic pop music at its
very best. Linked with Andy’s former work as Oppenheimer Analysis, but transferred
into the 21st century, "The Presence of the Abnormal" has hints of New Order,
The Human League or Soft Cell, but with a touch of 80’s minimal electronics, too.
